Who Are We?

A History 

Major Wright wasn't really created; it evolved. To truly understand who we are, you must understand the origins of the company.

Its owner, Kelly Carver, was a working wife and mother whose main priorities were supporting her husband and raising her children. In addition to her family, she was a perpetual student, an active community volunteer, and partnered with her husband in the creation and operation of two successful small businesses. As a result, she needed to be flexible to manage it all and found herself falling into temporary, contract, and freelance work. This all started in the late 1990s and has continued through the present day.

Ms. Carver has always had a heart for helping people. So, in addition to her "day jobs" with companies like General Dynamics, SRI, the University of Virginia, CarMax Corporate, and more, she has offered her services to small businesses in her spare time at a much-reduced rate. With this wide variety of short-term work for a range of businesses in extremely varied industries over the course of more than 30 years, Ms. Carver has had the opportunity to work with some truly skilled experts from around the world in almost every area of business and technology.

Fast forward to 2020. COVID was changing the world and the way we do business. Everyone was working remotely, if they were able to work, and a whole new group of tools became available for connecting and collaborating. Ms. Carver decided to make use of the extra time and validate her project management experience by obtaining her Project Management Institute-issued Project Management Professional certification. Then, in 2022, artificial intelligence came onto the scene with the public reveal of ChatGPT.

Post-COVID, more and more people began approaching Ms. Carver with questions about how to get things done more efficiently or cost-effectively by leveraging all the new technologies and tools available. In her desire to help, she found more projects organically developing, with teams and workflows taking shape naturally as she reached out to her extensive network. As a result, she decided to make Major Wright official.

We are a group of project managers and specialists who understand the details of what you're doing, even if you don't articulate them all, and we won't lose sight of the big picture. We get to know you and your business, discussing different strategies with our team before even coming up with a plan to help you hit your targets.
